왜 여호와를 송축해야 하는지,
왜 여호와를 경외해야 하는지,
왜 여호와의 은택을 잊지 않아야 하는지,
왜 여호와의 인자하심과 긍휼하심을 덧 입어야 하는지,
왜 여호와의 법도를 지키야 하는지,
그 이유를 깨닫게 하시는 귀한 말씀입니다.
시편103편의 말씀의 일부를 옮겨 놓습니다.
Psalm 103 Of David.
Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
내 영혼아 여호와를 송축하라 내 속에 있는 것들아 다 그의 거룩한 이름을 송축하라
Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits --
내 영혼아 여호와를 송축하며 그의 모든 은택을 잊지 말지어다
who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
그가 네 모든 죄악을 사하시며 네 모든 병을 고치시며
who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
네 생명을 파멸에서 속량하시고 인자와 긍휼로 관을 씌우시며
who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like
the eagle's.
좋은 것으로 네 소원을 만족하게 하사 네 청춘을 독수리 같이 새롭게 하시는 도다.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those
who fear him.
이는 하늘이 땅에서 높음 같이 그를 경외하는 자에게 그의 인자하심이 크심이로다.
As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those
who fear him;
아버지가 자식을 긍휼히 여김 같이 여호와께서는 자기를 경외하는 자를 긍휼히 여기시나니
As for man, his days are like grass, he flourishes like a flower of the field;
인생은 그 날이 풀과 같으며 그 영화가 들의 꽃과 같도다
the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.
그것은 바람이 지나가면 없어지나니 그 있던 자리도 다시 알지 못하거니와
But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD's love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children's children --
여호와의 인자하심은 자기를 경외하는 자에게 영원부터 영원까지 이르며 그의 의는 자손의
자손에게 이르리니
with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts
곧 그의 언약을 지키고 그의 법도를 기억하여 행하는 자 에게로다.
The LORD has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.
여호와께서 그의 보좌를 하늘에 세우시고 그의 왕권으로 만유를 다스리시도다.
